New AIDA Women Depth World Record !!

Records are made to be broken ! Thats what an athlete with ambition has in mind and thats what Alessia Zecchini had in mind. The yound Italian national team freediver and SALVIMAR athlete was expected to do well during the Oceaquest Freediving competition organized by the multiple Tunisian record holder Walid Boudiaf in San Anders Colombia, she exceeded everybody expectations and broke the record of 97m that was held by the Japanese Sayuri Kinoshita (Japan) (RIP) by adding another 3 metres to it and reaching 98m in about 4min!! 

Alessia was born in Rome on 30 June 1992 and finds her way to freediving through an early start as a competitive swimmer. She started her freediving career when she was 13 years old. on 2006, she took her first course of federal apnea in the Apnea Blu Mare society. due to rules of participation in competitions, Alessia had to wait until 18. she won her debut silver medal when she was 18 years old in her first Italian Championship. She is the current AIDA world record holder in CWT and CMAS world record holder in DYN with 253m and DYN BF 228.15m
